Tender Fruit
Tender fruit are produced in Ontario under diverse soil and climatic conditions. The goal is producing a high quality crop using sustainable production techniques, including the pest management system. Integrated Pest Management (IPM) has been used in Ontario tender fruit orchards since 1969, and is a dynamic and evolving process. There are many pests to watch for but not all show up every year or in every orchard. A good scout can make a significant contribution to the grower, by detecting problems early, by taking time to send samples to confirm disease diagnosis, and by keeping up to date on current problems in the region.
