GDP from the Agri-food Industry as a Share of the Overall Economy
aGross Domestic Product at factor cost is a measure of the unduplicated value of economic production arising within specified geographic boundaries. The value contributed by an industry is the residual derived by deducting the value of goods and services purchased and used in the production process from the value of goods and services produced by that industry.
bGoods-producing industries include primary industries, manufacturing, construction and utilities (other than communications). Primary industries include agriculture, fishing & hunting, logging & forestry, and mining, quarrying & oilwells.
cOntario estimate based on province's share of national manufacturing value-added from that activity.
dOntario estimate based on province's share of national
gross sales from that industry.
Note: Some totals may differ from the sum of their parts as series
expressed in chained dollars are not strictly additive.
