Farm Property Class Service Standards

Farm Finance Branch 2010

Our Mandate

The Farm Finance Branch works with farm property owners, the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC), and AGRICORP to identify properties to be placed in the Farm Property Class and taxed at 25 per cent of the municipal Residential tax rate.

Our Services

The Farm Finance Branch administers a property owner application process and reviews eligibility criteria, set in regulations, in order to determine properties to be placed in the Farm Property Class.

Our Service Standards

In order to facilitate farm owner access to the Farm Property Class tax rate the Farm Finance Branch will:

  1. Send an application package to 100% of:
    • new farm property owners identified by the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation, and
    • existing property owners, on request, or those who identify that there is a change of circumstances related to potential property eligibility.
  2. Annually report 100% of the currently eligible properties, to the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation, prior to the cut-off date set for assessment roll closure.
