Ontario's Plan for Rural Communities4.5 million people in Ontario live in a rural community. The Ontario government has made a long-term commitment to improve their quality of life. In 2004, we set out a plan to create better health care, schools, and jobs in rural Ontario. Strong Rural Communities, Working Together for Success is a shared vision, bringing together partners from government and local communities. This plan identifies our goals. It helps us make the investments that will bring about the changes rural Ontarians want. We know you care about good health care, safe water and green spaces, decent jobs, and good schools. Our plan is designed to deliver real results in each of these areas. Updates on the rural planYou can review our progress through annual updates of Ontario's Rural Plan.
