Rural Research

OMAFRA's funding of rural research supports its vision of "Ontario - an innovative world leader in responsible, sustainable, and environmentally sound agriculture, food and rural development."

OMAFRA funds rural research through the Sustainable Rural Communities Research Program under the Enhanced Partnership Agreement with the University of Guelph and through competitive Special Research Programs.

The priorities which are addressed by OMAFRA-funded, rural research are established by the Rural and the Agricultural Economics & Business Research and Services Committees.
