PERSONAL INFORMATION PROTECTION AND ELECTRONIC DOCUMENTS ACT

The Personal Information and Electronics Document Act (PIPEDA) is federal government legislation that sets out rules that organizations must abide by when collecting, using or disclosing personal information in the course of commercial activity.

DEFINITIONS

"PIPEDA" means the Personal Information Protection and Electronics Act, S.C. 2000, c.5, including any future amendments thereto;

"PIPEDA Protected Information" means any "Personal Information" or Personal Health Information", as defined under PIPEDA.

PIPEDA COMPLIANCE

The Applicant represents and warrants that (a) it shall preserve the PIPEDA compliance of all PIPEDA Protected Information transferred to it by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (referred to as Ministry); (b) it shall ensure that PIPEDA compliance of all PIPEDA Protected Information it collects in the course of developing and submitting the attached research proposal; and (c) it shall ensure the PIPEDA compliance of all PIPEDA Protected Information that it transfers to the Ministry.
