On Glenwillow Farms, necessity really was the mother of invention. When the fertilizer that had been used for years on corn was not as readily available, an alternative had to be found. But the only alternative had to be applied using expensive machinery. That's when ingenuity kicked into high gear. Several major alterations were made to a corn planter, including widening the frame, altering the hydraulic system, and making the storage boxes bigger. In the end, the farm's corn yield is better and the new fertilizer is more environmentally friendly.
