Profits will be rising along with the dough that comes from flour produced at this milling operation.  Patricia Hastings grows heritage grains like Red Fife on 400 acres of land, grinds them and makes them into a fabulous flour that is then sold to regional grocers, restaurants and bakeries.  An initial test marketing of 8 tonnes shows that the product is a hit and can compete well in the marketplace.  The vertically-integrated operation improves year-round cash-flow, provides jobs in the off-season, and is doing so well that the company is looking to contract with more grain growers.
