Fall 2016 release – version

General Enhancements

  1. Enhancements to accessibility
    • Every screen in the application has been updated to be accessible to users using screen readers.
    • Keyboard control functionality has been improved. For more information on keyboard shortcuts, please see the AgriSuite Accessibility Help Guide.
  2. File Extension change
    • The file extension has changed from .NM3 to .AGRI.
    • The application will continue to open files with the extension .NM3; however, files will be saved with the extension .AGRI.
  3. Fixed outstanding issue with PDF text when browser is zoomed
    • When browser is zoomed to a larger or smaller font, the text in the PDF report will be sized correctly.

NMAN Enhancements

  1. Enhanced Flag Summary Window
    • Flags are now grouped by type in the summary window.
    • The flag summary can now be displayed throughout the application using the flag summary button or the Ctrl+Alt+F keyboard shortcut.
    • It is recommended that users use the flag summary to keep track of flags in the current worksheet.
  2. NM Protocol update to Table 1
    • Nutrient Unit, livestock weight, and manure production values have been updated.

MDS Functionality

  1. Minimum Distance Separation (MDS) Calculator added in AgriSuite
    • MDS I and MDS II calculators now available.
    • Includes flags and reports specific to MDS.

3. May 2015 release - version

General Enhancements

  1. AgriSuite saves the user's last active tab when saving a file.
    • When the file is opened again in AgriSuite, it is reloaded to the same tab where it was last saved.
  2. New nutrient value parts per million (ppm) and per cent conversion tool added.
    • Users can enter a value in ppm and convert the number to a percentage, or vice versa. Currently, lab data comes in either form. This new tool allows conversion without introducing errors.
  3. Fixed outstanding unit and conversion issue for E. coli in NASM Plans.
    • NMAN now uses correct units on a wet basis (Coliform Forming Units (CFU)/100 millilitres) and dry basis (CFU/grams) and the associated conversions.
  4. Fixed outstanding error with the grazing nutrient balance.
    • NMAN now calculates and converts properly between metric and imperial units.

Reporting Enhancements

  1. Print Preview can be used when a worksheet contains missing information flags.
    • This allows users to preview the report to identify where information needs to be specified. (Missing information must still be specified in order to generate a PDF file that can be printed.)
  2. Generated PDF report files are automatically displayed using Adobe Reader.
    • The user no longer has to manually locate files using Windows Explorer each time. This functionality is only available when running AgriSuite from the desktop.
  3. Enhancements to GNF reports:
    • Fully available in English and French
    • New reports include GNF Document, GNF Record, GNF Land Application Schedule and GNF Record of Land Application. These are all the reports needed to meet regulatory requirements.

GNF Enhancements

  1. Default values were modified for the Greenhouse Nutrient Feedwater (GNF) Generator, GNF Receiver and GNF Storage check boxes on the Farm Information screen for the Nutrient Management (NM) Strategy and Plan and NASM Plan worksheets. They now reflect the most typical scenario expected for GNF.
  2. General enhancements to the GNF worksheet, including improved clarity for handling greenhouse operations that reasonably expect 24 months between generations of GNF.

4. March 2015 release - version

General Enhancements

  1. Software name and visual identity changed from NMAN to AgriSuite.
  2. The time required to open existing NMAN files (.nm3) was reduced. Some large files took over three minutes to load. This has been reduced to 30 seconds or less.
    • A progress bar now indicates that the application is loading the file. This was not available in previous versions - the application would look like it was not working when large files were loading.
  3. Default filename when saving
    • Once a file has been saved, the existing filename is automatically used in the Save File dialogue box. Previously, the user had to specify the filename every time they saved the file. Saving now works similar to the Save/Save As functions of other programs.
  4. Users can now add comments to some flags.
    • These comments appear in the Flag Summary, both in the application and on printed reports. This allows the user to provide additional information that may be useful for OMAFRA staff reviewing and approving applications, or for users commenting on decisions for best management practice reasons.
Comments can be added to these flags:
    • Operation Type
    • Farm Ownership Status
    • NASM Odour Category
    • NASM Unlisted Material
    • Roll Number Length
    • Roll Number Start Code
    • Lot Unlisted
    • Soil Texture
    • NASM Soil Test Value
    • Crop Yield
    • Other Crop

Farm Enhancements

  1. Multiple landowners can now be added to rented or leased farms.
    • This is in response to user requests.
  2. Greenhouse Nutrient Feedwater (GNF) generator and receiver inputs were added.
    • Users can indicate that they have a greenhouse generating GNF, storage for GNF and receive GNF.

Storage System Enhancements

  1. Milking centre washwater/plate cooler inputs for dairy
    • Users now need to specify each input as "yes" or "no" before leaving the Source Material Information (milking centre washwater) screen. This makes sure the user doesn't accidentally bypass the default values.
  2. New runoff management checklist for outdoor confinement areas (OCA)
    • OCAs previously used the same checklist as normal storages.
  3. Storage group scroll bar
    • A scroll bar has been added to the Storage Group Information screen to allow users to scroll up and down to see all storages. Previously, there was no scroll bar and the user could not view or edit some storages.
  4. Calculate Last Storage Dimension button
    • In some situations, users had to click the Calculate Last Storage Dimension button several times to calculate the last storage dimension. This bug was fixed.
  5. Material Nutrient Values displayed to four decimal places
    • This change will be useful for some NASM and GNF materials that have low nutrient concentrations.

Material Application Enhancements

  1. Amount of material remaining
  2. Main screen - project toolbar

    • The project toolbar has been updated to display the total amount of material remaining. This value is updated continuously to provide the user with an up-to-date value on the amount of material remaining.
    • Users can click the combo box to view individual material types.
    • Users can click the Material Type button to display the Material Information dialogue box.
    Material application screen upgrades
    • Now displays the amount of material remaining for the selected material type.
    • Users can click the Material Type button to display the Material Information dialogue box.
    • Allows users to change material information and view the material application graph.
  3. Nitrogen (N) availability for pheasant, emu, ostrich and rhea
    • Organic N availability is now 30 per cent. Previously, organic N availability was five or 15 per cent. This now reflects more accurate numbers.
  4. Organic matter applied
    • The organic matter applied is now displayed on the Material Application screen.

Reporting Enhancements

  1. NASM Plan approvals submission
    • The NASM unlisted material description has been added to the report.
  2. NASM Land Application Schedule and NASM Post Application Report
    • These reports no longer include best management practice (BMP) flags (e.g. N-Index, P-Index, material application liquid loading and P2O5 crop removal balance flags).
  3. Nutrient Management Strategy for approval
    • The printed report for submission now includes the Non-Nutrient Management Act (Non-NMA) Transfer Area (also displayed on the general information page)
    • Record Keeping Purposes option was added to the reasons for submission selections.
  4. Nutrient Management Plan (NMP)
    • The NMP printed report now includes a material application graph for each material.

GNF functionality

  1. GNF Worksheet added in NMAN
    • Uses the storage system, farm and field functions already in NMAN
    • Incorporates functions unique to GNF
    • Includes flags and reports specific to GNF
