  • $140 for non-producers ($110 for additional individuals within organization)

Nutrient Application Technician Licence Course

Prerequisite: None

Format: The required course for this licence, the "Nutrient Application Technician's Licence Course" consists of a video and associated workbook which the participant must complete with a qualified representative. A qualified representative includes either an OMAFRA trainer, or an individual who holds a valid "Prescribed Materials Application Business Licence". This means they have taken the "Prescribed Materials Application Business Licence Course" and passed the exam. It is recommended that the individual also has day-to-day managerial responsibility for field operations, and has extensive knowledge of the company's standard business practices and equipment.

There are two options for taking this course. The two options, including fees are described below. Nutrient Application Technicians will also need to write and pass a test to be licenced. An additional fee will apply.

Option 1 - Completed at the workplace with a qualified representative. Course material and fees include:

Participant manual (each participant must have their own manual) $65/manual plus shipping

Option 2 - Classroom course delivered by OMAFRA. A limited number of courses will be offered by OMAFRA on a seasonal basis. Call the Nutrient Management Information Line at 1-866-242-4460 to register.

Payment Policy

Course fees are due at the time of registration. Fees may be paid by cheque or credit card. All cheques must be made payable to "University of Guelph." One cheque must be written for each course registration. Credit card and cheque payments will be processed immediately following the course sessions.

Cancellation Policy

Please note that the Nutrient Management Branch endeavours to make courses accessible to clients across the province. However, we maintain a minimum numbers policy that requires 20 registrants for classroom/lecture style courses and 14 registrants for computer-based courses. If those minimums are not met, we will cancel sessions.

Refund Policy

Course registrants may withdraw from courses without penalty up to 48 hours in advance of the course.
