Ontario Monthly Average Market Price (C$/ckg, 100 index)

The graph compares the average yearly calculated Ontario market hog price for 2008 versus 2007 and the 10 year average for 1998 to 2007. As of the end of February 2008, the average Ontario price was $97.99 versus $133.27 as of the end of February 2007. The ten year average (1998 to 2007) Ontario market hog price is $144.95/ckg, 100 index. The difference between the 10 year average line and current prices shows the impact of the higher dollar on Ontario market hog prices. The 10 year average Canadian dollar value (1998 to 2007) is 73 cents versus 93 cents in 2007 and 100 cents so far this year.
