In the 1996 Ontario Horse Industry Report, results of the survey of Ontario Equestrian Federation (OEF) members were reported. OEF members include both the direct OEF members plus the Ontario members of the Canadian Equestrian Federation (CEF).

The 5,150 members own approximately 20,400 horses.

Annually, OEF members spend in excess of $92.6 M on such items as feed, bedding, board and employment. In addition, they have in excess of $410 M invested in fixed assets such as buildings, land, vehicles and farm equipment.

Annual expenditures by OEF members represent approximately 16% of the total expenditures of the Ontario horse industry while investment in fixed assets represents 7% of the total investment in fixed assets in the industry.

The completion of this project would not have been possible without the help and cooperation of the OEF, CEF, breed associations and corporate sponsors.
