Number of Goats on Farms in Ontario

In 2001, the number of goats in Ontario made up 34% of the national goat herd. The results from the Census of Agriculture below indicate that there were less goat farms in 2001 compared to 1996, however there were generally more goats on those farms. The goat industry is continuing to expand as more commercial opportunities become available for meat, milk and fibre producers.
