The effects of molds and mycotoxins and specifically vomitoxin is
unknown in rabbits.
Rabbit producers have been very concerned for the past year with higher
than normal deaths due to diarrhea in fryer rabbits.
- Vomitoxin (DON) levels and specifically wheat by-products containing
greater than 1 ppm vomitoxin in the total diet have been blamed
by some rabbit producers for this problem..
- Rabbit producers should be working directly with their feed supplier
to ensure that vomitoxin levels in their feed contains less than
1 ppm.
