Foodland Ontario Retailer Awards highlight grocery stores' creative
and innovative efforts to promote good things that grow in Ontario.
The Foodland Ontario Award of Excellence goes to three stores:
Stores submit photos of their promotional displays to qualify for
the awards. This year, judges reviewed over 2,000 photographs submitted
by 964 entrants.
Recognizing excellence in the promotion of local produce is part
of the McGuinty government's plan to support a strong agri-food
industry and build the economy.
"These retailers are dedicated to showcasing Ontario grown
fruit and vegetables. By working together to promote Ontario produce
we support our local economy and help people put more fresh, quality
food on their tables."
- Ted McMeekin, Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs
