Ontario is helping a St-Albert business expand to offer farmers an affordable and environmentally-friendly way to recycle deadstock.

With support from Ontario's Rural Economic Development Program, Machabee Animal Food will expand their composting facility. The enhanced facility will:

  • stabilize deadstock disposal costs for farmers in Eastern and Central Ontario
  • increase compost output to 1,000 tonnes per year
  • create up to four new jobs and retain 12 existing positions

A strong agri-food industry is part of the McGuinty government's plan to create jobs and opportunities that will grow the province's economy.
