Newmarket Food Processor Expands Production - McGuinty Government Supports Agri-Food Industry, Creates Jobs

A leading Ontario meat processor is expanding production, supporting local farmers and creating 11 new jobs.

With support from Ontario's Rural Economic Development Program, Newmarket Meat Packers is expanding and renovating their processing facility in response to the growing demand for their high-quality meats at supermarkets and butcher shops all across the province. This will help the company:

  • increase production speeds and volumes
  • develop new specialty meat products
  • source more meat from Ontario farmers
  • create 11 new jobs and retain 30 existing positions

A strong agri-food industry is part of the McGuinty government's plan to create jobs and opportunities that will grow the province's economy.
