Kawartha Ice Cream Facility Expands, Creates Jobs

Refurbishing a family-owned ice cream business with new technology will help meet consumer demand for ice cream made locally with 100 per cent Canadian dairy ingredients.

Through the Rural Economic Development Program, Ontario is helping Kawartha Dairy Limited to:

  • create up to 10 new jobs and retain 86 existing positions
  • install new technologies to improve production
  • improve material handling capacity, food safety and quality control
  • train employees to operate and maintain new systems
  • increase demand for milk from local farmers
