Shining A Spotlight On The Bruce Coast Lighthouses

Bruce County is growing local tourism by marketing the Bruce Coast as the “Lighthouse Destination in Great Lakes Canada.”

Through the Rural Economic Development Program, Ontario is helping Bruce County to:

• upgrade, preserve and promote the historic lighthouses of Bruce County
• preserve marine heritage along the Bruce Coast
• produce brochures, exhibits and interactive displays
• renovate the Cabot Head Fog Horn Building
• refurbish the Flowerpot Lighthouse Museum
• commemorate the 150th anniversary of Point Clark and Chantry Island Lighthouses
• educate visitors about the importance of lighthouses to marine traffic through history

• Since 2003, Ontario has invested $83.1 million in 251 projects through the Rural Economic Development Program.
