Ontario is helping the Town of Bancroft develop a plan to revitalize its downtown and boost economic development.

The province is providing $75,000 toward the Re-Developing Downtown Bancroft project. The funding will help develop a plan that identifies what initiatives are needed to attract investors, developers and private/public partnerships.

The funding is part of the Rural Economic Development Program, which invests in community-based projects in three priority areas:

  • Improved access to health care services
  • Revitalized communities and downtowns
  • Enhanced skills training.
