Agricorp To Improve Service To Ontario Farmers
Agricorp will continue to deliver farm income assistance programs in Ontario while improving service to its customers. The government received a value-for-money audit report on Agricorp in July and solicited opinions from farmers and their organizations about the report's recommendations over the summer and fall. Ontario farmers will see improvements in the service they receive from Agricorp, including quicker turnaround times on AgriStability program applications and faster response times at the call centre. Over the next few months, the provincial government will work with Agricorp on a renewal strategy that focuses on excellent customer service. The strategy will concentrate on getting the most value for farmers' and taxpayers' money through an accountable and transparent process. Ontario will also continue to champion the national review of Business Risk Management programs, reflecting the auditor's comments on the complexity, predictability and transparency of the AgriStability program. QUOTES"I want to thank everyone who took the time to provide input about how we can do a better job of delivering income support programs more effectively," said Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs Leona Dombrowsky.
