September 22, 2008

NEWS

Ontario is helping the Township of Norwich and the Oxford Small Business Support Centre develop a strategic plan to build long-term business partnerships.

The province's $23,500 investment will help the township develop a long-range financial plan and help to promote the community regionally and internationally, attracting foreign investment.

The funding is part of the Rural Economic Development Program which invests in community-based projects in three priority areas:

  • Improved access to health care services
  • Revitalized communities and downtowns
  • Enhanced skills training.

QUOTES

"Through the province's support, the Township of Norwich will have the resources to take control of its economy by identifying the changing needs of the community, business and industry," said Leona Dombrowsky, Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs.

"This project will improve the township's understanding of its resources - its land, people and unique characteristics and provide the tools to communicate its strengths effectively," said Norwich Mayor Donald Doan.
