Agricultural Tourism Coming to Niagara RegionSeptember 18, 2008 NEWSOntario is helping Club 2000 Niagara Inc. make Niagara Region a centre for agricultural tourism in southern Ontario. The province is investing $128,480 to help launch four seasonal tours and an agricultural cooperative in the Niagara Region. The investment will assist farmers and producers to market and distribute their products to revitalize small farms, promote growth and create jobs. The seasonal tours will combine attractions, events and activities to highlight the vitality of rural communities in the Niagara region. To further showcase the diversity of rural Ontario, the francophone market of the region will be featured on the tours, capitalizing on the talent, knowledge and skills of the area's francophone community. The funding is part of the Rural
Economic Development Program which invests in community-based projects
in three priority areas:
