Ontario is helping the City of Dryden develop a marketing
strategy to increase tourism and create jobs.
The province is investing $107,000 to help the municipality
and the Dryden Marketing Association identify projects that will help
revitalize the tourism industry. Priority projects include creating
a sustainable waterfront and enhancing the existing Dryden trail system.
In addition, the money will go towards research to help shape a new
website, with the aim of making Dryden a tourist destination of choice
in Northern Ontario.
The funding is part of the Rural
Economic Development Program which invests in community-based projects
in three priority areas:

to supporting communities that want to do more for their citizens,"
said Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs Minister Leona
Dombrowsky.
"We are pleased with the support of the Ontario government for
this initiative. With this funding, the vision of making Dryden a
strong tourist destination is on its way to becoming a reality,"
said Dryden Mayor Anne
Krassilowsky.
