Ontario is helping the Municipality of Sioux Lookout and
Lac Seul First Nation enhance its downtown core.
The province is investing $500,000 towards the renovation
and landscaping of the Heritage Train Station and Centennial Park. These
upgrades will help increase tourism opportunities, create a more vibrant
downtown area, expand current business operations and encourage local
residents and visitors to spend more time exploring the community.
The funding is part of the Rural
Economic Development Program which invests in community-based projects
in three priority areas:
" Revitalized communities and downtowns
" Enhanced skills training
" Improved access to health care services
