Local Honeybee Associations
Table of ContentsIntroductionLocal Beekeeper Associations are an important source of information for all beekeepers. They usually meet about four times per year but some meet as much as once per month. These local groups will often have a mentoring program for new beekeepers. It is also a place to meet the beekeepers of the area. These groups are often involved in local promotion projects such as fairs and school programs. They are often involved in showing honey and honeybee products. Some maintain lists of beekeepers who will go out and capture swarms of honeybees (no wasps, please). Every beekeeper should be involved and belong to the Local Association for his/her area. Contact the president of the Local Association in your area for information on when and where they meet.
