Figure 2 shows the type of varroa monitoring method used by commercial and small-scale beekeepers in 2016. Survey respondents could reply with more than one answer. Commercial beekeepers reported 18 cases of the sticky board method, 42 cases of the alcohol wash method, 33 cases of other and 11 cases of no monitoring for varroa. Small-scale beekeepers reported 46 cases of the sticky board method, 12 cases of the alcohol wash method, 33 cases of other and 47 cases of no monitoring for varroa.
