List of Notifiable Hazards to be Reported by Laboratories1 to the Chief Veterinarian for Ontario

Downloadable PDF Version

The following table identifies the hazards that are immediately notifiable (based on positive lab results only) or periodically notifiable by Ontario veterinary laboratories to the Chief Veterinarian for Ontario, by the authority of the Reporting of Hazards and Findings regulation under the Animal Health Act, 2009. Clinical cases that are not supported by a lab test specific for the notifiable hazard of concern should not be reported.

1Veterinarians are required to submit immediately notifiable reports only upon receipt of a positive lab result from a laboratory outside Ontario. Veterinarians are not required to provide periodic (annual) reports.
