About Ontario's Advantage program

The ministry developed the Advantage Series of Food Safety Programs™ to address food safety from farm to fork. These programs establish a standardized approach for everyone in Ontario's agri-food industry.

This series is based on industry best practices and internationally recognized Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) principles. All programs are voluntary.

Current programs in the series include:

• For producers (the agriculture sector): Advantage Good Agricultural Practice
• For processors: Advantage Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Advantage HACCP and Advantage HACCP Plus; see who is Advantage certified

Our traceability programs and products apply to all participants in the agri-food chain and are based on nationally recognized CanTrace traceability standards.
