Street Smart 2014

Street Smart is back this year and will be held September 22-23, 2014. Based on the success of our 2012 event and the ongoing demand from a number of US retailers, the emphasis of this year's event is private label, branded, as well as health and wellness products. The Street Smart seminar originated in 1999 and was created by Ontario Food Exports (OFEX) to help connect Ontario suppliers to US and international buyers. The event provides an opportunity for suppliers to showcase their products and meet buyers from the US and key international markets. Street Smart has resulted in tens of millions of dollars in exports to the US from Ontario food and beverage suppliers.

The event takes place over 2 days and consists of a meet and greet with OFEX, networking opportunities and tabletop set-up in preparation for the tabletop event itself on the second day. Street Smart aims to provide Ontario food and beverage companies with an overall, well-rounded experience as well as exposure to possible buyer relationships.

New this year is the inaugural Street Smart Workshop, scheduled for September 9, 2014. This workshop is designed to provide Ontario Street Smart participants with the tools and information they need to prepare for the main event. The workshop will address how to make successful buyer presentations, develop effective branding/marketing strategies, and will provide the opportunity to participate in a mock buyer session.
