Notice to Seed Corn Dealers

Please note, a licence as a dealer of seed corn is only required if you contract with Ontario producers for the production of seed corn.

The criteria for licensing are as follows:

1. Equipment
2. Experience
3. Compliance with all applicable regulations under the Farm Products Marketing Act.

Licences have no expiry date, unless identified to the contrary on the licence.

Once a dealer has been issued a licence, this licence will continue unless the dealer fails to comply with the licensing criteria, ceases operation, or there is a change in the ownership of the assets of the company. In the latter two cases, the existing licence must be surrendered, and the new operator must apply for a licence.

If there are indications that a dealer is not in compliance with the licensing criteria, the licence can be reviewed at any time.
