Director Training
Objective:
To provide directors and senior staff of marketing boards and buyer/processor
associations with resources and seminars aimed at skills development
and strong governance.
Ongoing Workshops:
- Board Governance
- A governance refresher for your board of directors and senior
staff
- Length can be tailored to your schedule. The full, interactive
workshop requires three hours.
- There is no cost to your board for this workshop.

- "On-Demand" Orientation Training for Board Members
- Workshops have been scheduled for June 19 and November 9,
2007 in Guelph.
- This 6-hour training session is available "on-demand"
and free-of-charge.
- Content includes board governance and effectiveness as well
as marketing regulations and authorities.
- With involvement from your board, this workshop can be expanded
to include board-specific policies, procedures and strategies.
- This course is an effective orientation for newly elected
board memebers.

Periodic Workshops:
- Specialized workshops are developed and delivered to respond to
the training and education needs of the Commission's partners in
regulated marketing.
- Past examples include:
- "Getting to Concensus" - a board decision making
workshop
- "Financial Responsibility" - a financial reporting
workshop
- "Governanace Best Practices" - an advanced governance
workshop for boards of directors
- "Effective Communications" - a skills workshop to
improve media relations and your role as a spokesperson for
the board.
