- AVRDC
- AVRDC is a non-profit international agriculture research organization.
Their focus is on working towards technology of benefit to the global
community and reducing rural poverty. Click on the AVRDC Learning
Center to access a collection of on-line books, bulletins, fact
sheets, and tutorials on vegetable crop production
- BC Vegetable Marketing Commission
- The group promotes orderly marketing for vegetable producers.
Their website includes information on food safety, commissions,
agencies, and wholesalers.
- Canadian Produce Marketing Association
- The CPMA is a non-profit organization representing companies
which market fresh produce. The organization attempts to educate
consumers and promote produce, as well as promoting and ensuring
food safety.
- Farmers' Markets Ontario
- A group dedicated to promoting and keeping farmers markets alive.
Provides information on relevant laws and bylaws, starting a farmers
market, and where you can find current markets near you.
- Ohio Vegetable and Potato
Growers Association
- A group providing news, articles and research information on
vegetables and related topics.
- Ontario Asparagus Growers' Marketing Board
- The board provides marketing information for asparagus, releasing
an annual report as well as having marketing information on their
website. Includes everything from market prices and seed sales,
to recipes and a bulletin board for buying/selling.
- Ontario Food Terminal Board
- This group manages the largest wholesale fruit and vegetable
terminal in Canada. Products are shipped from their terminal to
all Canadian provinces and territories and some northern USA states.
- Ontario Fruit & Vegetable Growers' Association
- This association brings the issues of farmers to the provincial
and federal governments. Website includes events calendar, research,
current issues, faqs, and membership information.
- Ontario Processing Vegetable Growers
- This group is responsible for negotiating prices of 13 processing
vegetable crops. Their website includes newsletters, research, regulation
information, crop insurance information, information about the industry,
and statistics on the 13 crops they are involved with.
- Ontario Produce Marketing Association
- The OPMA communicates between all parties involved in produce,
from growers to retailers to government.
Vegetable IPM
- Cornell Integrated Crop and Pest
Management Guidelines (Vegetables)
- A step by step guide on IPM, crop management, disease, insect and
weed control, wildlife management, and more. It also features chapters
which are dedicated to certain vegetables, and problems or methods
associated with them.
- Cornell Vegetable MD Online
- A part of Cornell University, Veg MD is a page which gives you
information on diseases, indexed by crop for easy searching. It
also has pictures of the diseases showing you what to look for.
- Insect Notes
- A website with a nice, simple layout listing a variety of topics
on vegetable IPM, either by insect or by technique, for growers
and home gardeners.
- University of California Statewide Integrated Pest
Management Project
- CaliforniaUniversitywebpage providing information on vegetable
IPM and a range of vegetable diseases
- Veg-Edge - IPM Resource for the Mid-west
- A regularly updated site that delivers up to date information
on IPM to southeastern USA and Ontario. Its website also has a real-time
weather radar, pest fact sheets, and IPM newsletters.

- University website which provides research reports, information
on laboratory testing, and links to production management.
- Great Lakes Vegetable Working
Group
- A group that serves as a communication link for the Great Lakes
area in the US and Canada. Includes a directory of vegetable specialists,
information on the group's annual meetings as well as other area events,
and links to useful information for vegetable growers in the area.
- Michigan State University Vegetable
Team
- Easy to navigate university website providing information on
cover crops, irrigation, weeds, disease control and a range of other
subjects.
- Michigan Vegetable Information
Network
- MichiganState University website which offers information and help
on a wide range of subject related to growing. Contents can be searched
by crop or by operation such as disease control, irrigation, etc.
- Ohioline Vegetable Crops
- This website provides access to a number of articles on a wide
range of vegetable crops. Article topics vary from marketing to
IPM and soil management.
- Plant Pathology
Internet Guidebook
- An online resource for anyone seeking information on plant pathology,
entomology, and all related fields. Updates may be infrequent at
times.
- Sustainable Practices
for Vegetable Production
- Practical ideas for sustainable vegetable production.
- Purdue Fruit and Vegetable Connection
- University page with newsletters, event listings, production tips
and general vegetable info.
- University of Massachusetts Vegetable Management
- The U of M webpage provides information on different crops, insects,
diseases, and soil management. They also publish a newsletter, and

- Vegetable Information
from the Texas Horticulture Program
- This website provides access to the information resources of
the teaching, research, and extension program of the Texas A&M

- InfoHort
- InfoHort is a Canadian government resource for information on
apples, potatoes, vegetables, and herbs. Also includes wholesale
pricing information, national crop news, and a variety of external

- Economic Research Service
- A US site which provides a number of in-depth articles on the
current economic status around different vegetable crops.
- Fruit & Vegetable Market Prices
- A website which delivers current, archived and historical produce
prices.
- Trade Data
Online - Canada
- This Canadian government site provides customs-based statistics
on international trade in goods to help you: find new export markets;
determine competition for your products; identify domestic opportunities
for import replacement; or analyse the Canadian domestic market
for industries in the manufacturing sector. It can generate customized
reports on Canadian trade with over 200 countries and thousands
of products, including fresh and processed vegetables.

- The Grower Magazine
- A published magazine which runs with articles on vegetables,
fruits, growing techniques and growing equipment
- Hort Newsletters Online
- A sorted list of different newsletters for a wide range of horticultural
subjects.
- Ohio State University's VegNet
- OhioState's website with links to their newsletter VegNet.
- The Packer
- An extensive free online newsletter site. Plenty of articles
on vegetables but contains articles on a variety of other subjects.
Website layout is similar to large network news sites, which may
seem cluttered, but most information is right on the front page.
- Tomato News
- A frequently updated online newsletter which requires a subscription
to access website content.
- Vegetable Growers
News
- A published and online magazine. Requires a paid subscription
for the published version, but the website contains a very good
online version as well. Includes news concerning vegetable production/growing
as well as classifieds and buyers guides.
