Sprayer calibration should be carried out in a typical field where spraying will be done, and not on a lawn or around farm buildings. In order to get an accurate measure of actual ground speed, the sprayer tank should be half filled with clean water. This provides for an average ground speed under field conditions. While you're at it, fill the clean water tank with tap water for use in cleaning nozzle tips, screens, or hands when necessary. Park the sprayer in the field with the PTO engaged and adjust the throttle to reach the desired PTO speed as when doing the test run. Adjust the pressure regulator to obtain the desired working pressure with full flow to the boom. Another tip: Sensing pressure at the boom is better than at the pump. This sprayer has a gauge sensing pressure at the boom in small increments, such as 2 p.s.i. to give accurate pressure readings. Collect the liquid from each nozzle with the graduated cylinder,
for the same length of time as required to travel the 50 meters. Start
at one end of the boom and do each and every nozzle. Record the amounts
collected in millilitres on your note pad. | Top of Page | For more information:Toll Free: 1-877-424-1300 Local: (519) 826-4047 E-mail: ag.info.omafra@ontario.ca |
