Pesticide Schedules in Ontario

The Ontario Ministry of the Environment reviews each pesticide product offered for sale in Ontario and classifies it into one of 6 groupings called Schedules.

Only certified growers or licensed exterminators may buy and use Schedule 1, 2 and 5 pesticides. Assistants may also use Schedule 2 and 5 pesticides if they are trained and supervised as required.

1 Restricted. Use permit only.
2 Restricted to certified agriculturalists, licensed exterminators, registered custom sprayers and permit holders
3 Agriculturalists and consumer use
4

"Domestic" products only

5 Limited to application on agricultural land. Similar to Schedule 2
6 Similar to Schedule 4 but may be registered for agricultura/commercial use. Container size 1 L or greater
