Integrated Pest Management Options

Cool soil temperatures after seeding favours this disease. This disease was quite important in Ontario wheat production, but the incidence and hence its impact has been reduced substantially due to the effectiveness of fungicide seed treatments. Use seed that is free of bunt spores (black). Infected seed produces a "fishy" smell.
