DescriptionThe adults are dark brown or black moths with spotted wings. Their wingspan is approximately 2.5 cm (1 in.) The larvae are pale green, approximately 2.5 cm (1 in.) in length and have two white longitudinal stripes running along the length of the back. The larvae will pulsate when disturbed. Green cloverworm attack alfalfa, bean, clover, cowpea, soybean, strawberry, vetch, many common weeds and other legumes. Integrated Pest Management OptionsSeveral natural enemies help keep green cloverworm populations below action thresholds. Insecticides are only recommended if populations are extremely high, as they will also kill the natural enemy population.
