Table 4-2. Description for Ontario Classification of Pesticide Product
Ontario
Classification
Summary*
1
Designated under the Pesticide Control Product Act (PCPA) as pesticides of the Manufacturing Class for use only in the manufacture of a pest control product or a product regulated under the Fertilizers Act.

Designated under the PCPA as pesticides of the Commercial Class for use in commercial activities that are specified on the label or Restricted Class when the label specifies essential conditions respecting the display, distribution or limitations on the use of, or qualifications of persons who may use the product.

Designated under the PCPA as pesticides of the Domestic Class to be distributed primarily to the general public for personal use in or around their homes.

Banned for sale in Ontario.

Banned for use in, on or over land unless their use is excepted.

Are allowed for use under the promotion of public health or safety exception.

Require a "green" notice sign be posted for the purposes of providing public notice when products containing these ingredients are used by any person on non-residential area land and by a licensed exterminator on residential area land in performing land exterminations.
