  • Apply immediately following transplanting in a 25-30 cm band over the transplants.
  • Use lower rates on lighter soils.
  • For best results, lightly incorporate or apply irrigation if rainfall does not occur within two days of application.
  • After harvest, soil should be worked at right angles to the rows to prevent injury to succeeding crops. Small grains may be seeded in the fall to prevent soil erosion. These grains may be stunted but not otherwise affected.
