Ontario’s minor use priorities are established annually by the various OASCC research and services committees, commodity crop protection task forces and the field crops technical working group

* Eligibility:

  1. URMULE = User Requested Minor Use Label Expansion; product already available in Canada on other commodities
  2. URMUR = User Requested Minor Use Registration; product not registered in Canada yet, but available for same use in USA or EU.
  3. Other = Is not eligible for either of the above
  4. Cat. A = Registrant submission

** Justifications:

  1. No pest control product registered to control this pest (insect, disease, weed)
  2. New introduced pest problem
  3. Old technology replacement (organophosphate, carbamate, EBDC, etc.)
  4. Resistance management tool
  5. Reduced risk, biopesticide or GRAS (generally regarded as safe) product
  6. Supports a new IPM approach (pheromone mating disruption, etc.)
  7. Export crop with need for harmonized pest control options and crop tolerances
  8. More effective therefore leading to pesticide reduction
  9. New crop
