Ontario’s minor use priorities are established annually by various services committees and minor use commodity liaison committees.

** Justifications:

  1. No pest control product registered to control this pest (insect, disease, weed)
  2. New introduced or invasive pest problem
  3. Old technology (organophosphate, carbamate, EBDC, etc.) replacement
  4. Resistance management tool/ IPM strategy tool
  5. Reduced risk, biopesticide, pheromone or GRAS (generally regarded as safe) product
  6. Export crop with need for harmonized pest control options and MRLs/tolerances
  7. New crop
