Zadok Stages Graphic

Fusarium Risk Maps can be used to predict the risk of fusarium infection during the flowering stage of the wheat. The predicted risk information will be presented as colour-coded maps. These maps forecast the amount of toxin (DON in ppm) that would accumulate if your wheat was at Zadok's Stage 59, which is when 75% of the heads in a conopy are completely emerged from the flag leaf, on the date of a map. Zadok's Stage 47, which is 6 - 8 days from Zadok's 59, and when 75% of the heads are in "boot". Zadok's Stage 50, which is 3 - 4 days from Zadok's 59, and when 75% of the heads are emerging above the ligule/base of the flag leaf. Zadok's 55, which is 1 - 2 days from Zadok's 59, and when 75% of the heads are half emerged above the ligule/base of flag leaf.

The prediction model incorporates rainfall, heading dates and temperature to produce a risk map for DON production. Each map will be updated with actual weather data as the season progresses to improve the accuracy of the predictions. Each map will be updated every day until July 15.
