OMAFRA Mycotoxin Survey

Albert Tenuta and I continue to work with Dr. Art Schaafsma in surveying corn fields across the province for DON levels. Of the 22 corn field surveyed this past week (See Table 1) only 9 fields had DON levels below 1 ppm. As was the case two weeks ago, southwestern counties again have the highest levels of mycotoxins although ear moulds can be found in all regions of the province. We will continue to monitor the problem.
Note: Additional field data from the second sampling date is still being processed.
