Monitoring Techniques Thresholds
- Examination of leaves using hand lens
- 10 leaves from each of 10 trees minimum
- Bronzing is more grey than that caused by ERM
- Webbing is obvious in high infestations
- Threshold is 5-10 active mites (ERM and TSSM) per leaf in July
Additional Notes
- Hosts include apple, pear, plum, apricot and cherry
- Drought may cause migrations from grasses to fruit trees

- Summer miticides
- Levels of predatory mites should be considered before controls used.
