Regional Information:

  • Pest activity is extremely site specific and not relevant for regional crop report

Site Specific Monitoring:

  • Visual symptoms of silvery leaves

Monitoring Techniques Thresholds:

  • Visual monitoring with hand lens or brushing leaves onto glass plate and examining under dissecting microscope
  • Threshold not established but would be very high

Additional Notes:

  • Miticides can disrupt biological control of mites by eliminating predatory mite populations
  • Control measures should only be used against a growing population determined by successive samples, not against one already in decline

Commonly Used Control Options:

  • Rarely a problem so miticides not recommended.
