Regional Information:

  • Pest activity is extremely site specific and not relevant for regional crop report.

Site Specific Monitoring:

  • Susceptible varieties (clingstone cultivars and nectarines) can be checked throughout season.

Monitoring Techniques Thresholds:

  • Visual examinations should begin at bloom and continue on leaves and fruit throughout the season.
  • No established thresholds.

Additional Notes:

  • Incidence is highly dependent on susceptibility of cultivar and weather conditions.

Commonly Used Control Options:

  • Selecting resistant varieties is the most effective control strategy
  • Reduction of bacterial populations occurs when copper based products used for fall leaf curl control.
  • May be able to reduce the number of infected fruit at thinning time.
