Name: Rough fleabane, Erigeron strigosus Muhl.,

Other Names: vergerette rude, Daisy fleabane, Rough daisy fleabane, vergerolle rugueuse, érigéron hispide

Family: Composite or Aster Family (Compositae

General Description: Very similar to Annual fleabane

Stems & Leaves: Differing from Annual fleabane by having smaller, narrower, darker green leaves which are slightly rough with short stiff hair; only the basal and lower stem leaves having a few shallow teeth, the middle and upper leaves usually very narrow and without teeth.

Flowers & Fruit: The flower heads averaging slightly smaller in size and in numbers of ray florets.

Habitat: It occurs throughout Ontario and is distributed in similar habitats as Annual fleabane.
