Fertilizer Recommendation Tables - 2008 Revision

Enclosed are copies of all fertilizer requirement tables for field grown crops dated fall 2008, along with lime requirement tables and messages which are printed out on soil test forms for specific conditions. Please discard your old tables. 

Tables listing the Crop Nutrient Removal values that are used in the NMAN2 computer program have been updated.

There have been no changes to the fertilizer recommendations in 2008.

The soil test rating system was changed, effective January 1, 2008, to reflect the probability of response to added nutrients. The comparison with the old system is shown in the following table:

An infosheet has been prepared that gives more detail on the response categories and is available on the OMAFRA website.

Fertilizer recommendations in these tables have been approved by the Ontario Soil Management Research and Services Committee and the appropriate sub-committee.

The OSMRSC executive committee welcomes suggestions and research data to make changes to the recommendations. Such information should be forwarded to:
