Chance seedling discovered in B.C. in the early 1980's. The apple
is owned by Wilfred and Sally Mennell, Cawston, B.C. A good-quality
bicolour apple ripening in Delicious season. Assigned to Okanagan
Plant Improvement Co., Canada.
Fruit: medium to large size; attractive; crisp; sweet; low acid;
very juicy; distinct, pleasant aroma; mild flavour. Ambrosia stores
well in Standard CA for 6 to 7 months. It has a fairly narrow picking
window if it is to be held in long term CA storage.
Tree: spur type, upright growth. Limbs should be tied down early
in the life of the tree.
