Approved Projects for the Agri-Food Open for E-Business- Targeted Intake Stream 2: Develop Online Business Opportunities

The following recipients have been approved and contracted, as of November 24, 2020, to receive funding to develop and implement high-impact online e-business opportunities on a larger scale.

AgSights The Recipient will receive up to $6,798.60 to purchase promotional materials such as coolers, insulated bags, business cards, folding tables and will complete website upgrades to reduce the limitations in the current site and address the changing needs of the customers. All or Nothing Brewhouse The Recipient will receive up to $3,600.00 to complete marketing activities, personnel training (third party), develop the online store website to support new methods of shopping for clients of the local farmers' market. Durham Region Central
Community Futures Huron The Recipient will receive up to $40,673.00 to launch e-commerce sales platforms for seven farmers' markets in Huron County to assist producers with online sales of their products and also create an online presence through promotions to help further increase potential for future sales and to reach new customers. Downtown Georgetown Business Improvement Area The Recipient will complete marketing activities (e.g., web ads, and social media ads), complete personnel training (third party), prepare the online store website (e.g. Local Line site, and subscription up to six months), and purchase social distancing equipment (e.g., tables, tent) to support new methods of shopping for clients of the local farmers' market. Farmers' Markets Ontario The Recipient will receive up to $75,000 to develop an online platform as well as protocols for logistics of online orders and distribution, complete marketing activities, including training, support, and subscriptions. The project will address the changing needs of both farm and farm market members selling to the public. Northumberland County East
FreshSpoke Inc. The Recipient will receive up to $41,666.66 to provide e-commerce tools to facilitate transactions for local food suppliers through its wholesale sales channel and initiate online marketing to increase the business to customer revenue stream. Simcoe County Central
Hall Orchards Ltd. The Recipient will receive up to $73,150.00 to enhance e-commerce capabilities and improve distribution systems for their existing e-commerce site which serves 25 farmers in the city of Kingston. Leeds & Grenville County East
Homegrown Hamper The Recipient will purchase promotional materials such as coolers, insulated bags, business cards, folding tables and will complete website upgrades to reduce the limitations in the current site and address the changing needs of the customers. Hastings County East
Lee and Maria's Delivery Inc. The Recipient will receive up to $45,418.05 to implement software for delivery, and will purchase and install computers in the facility. This project will support the increased demands of the community for home delivery of local farm produce. Essex County West
Northern Ontario Brewers Alliance The Recipient will receive up to $10,032 to develop their website including SEO, create photography and designs for product labels and packaging to expand their client online ordering system and increase sales across Canada. Parry Sound District Northeast
Ontario South Coast Wineries and Growers Association The Recipient will receive up to $31,045.00 to update its web design and create an e-business platform for its winery and brewery members to sell collectively their products through. The Recipient will also organize the distribution model and develop the operational processes for shipping and delivery of these products. Norfolk County West
VETSon Inc The recipient will receive up to $25,301.25 to develop and implement online e-commerce and fulfillment for livestock farmers Oxford County West
Wageners Meat The Recipient will receive up to $36,000.00 to implement an enhanced website with an improved e-commerce platform with a portal for customers and retailers which will expand markets and create new revenue streams to deal with the current COVID-19 crisis. Toronto Region Central
